Kelly, a girl at soccer camp, was the second (third if you count Nates first one) Girlfriend of the many girlfriends of Nate Wright. She attends Jefferson Middle School.

Biography[]
Kelly met Nate at a soccer camp during the summer. Nate dumped Kelly because Nate had a crush on a girl, Jenny Jenkins, for years, and even though she despises Nate, Nate thought he would be able to ask her out. Over the days of soccer practice, the two grew feelings for each other. Before long they were a couple. Then, after some time in their relationship, Nate found out Jenny was single again. Past feelings for her resurfaced and Nate wanted to ask out Jenny one again.
Nate meets Kelly
Nate broke up with Kelly by writing a note on the back of a detention slip during Writing Class, thus infuriating Kelly. Kelly confronted him about it, and while Wright tried to defend his actions, Kelly refused to give in. She also questioned his logic in saying she was awesome, whereas he was acting like a jerk. Before Wright could respond, Kelly left across the lawn of P.S. 38. It is unknown what happened to Kelly after Nate broke up with her. She was mentioned by Teddy Ortiz when he wanted to break up with Paige on October 18, 2016, and by Francis Pope on June 18, 2013. After this, Kelly was never mentioned.

Nate Wright[]
Kelly is one of Nate's ex-girlfriends. Kelly met Nate at a soccer camp during the summertime. The reason why Nate dumped Kelly was that Nate has had a crush on a girl, Jenny Jenkins, for three (or more) years, and wanted to ask Jenny out instead. Even though she despises Nate, Nate wanted to ask her out (again). Nate broke up with Kelly by writing on the back of a detention slip, thus making Kelly furious. When Nate soon saw Jenny with another guy, he was shocked, and discovered that he had dumped Kelly when Jenny hooked up with another guy. Kelly has not reappeared on the series since the breakup.

- When soccer camp ended, Kelly surprised Nate with a nice goalie shirt, which happens to be unknown for all the other Big Nate books. This struck Nate as a surprise, and in an attempt to hide the fact that he did not know that they were exchanging gifts, Nate gave her a used bottle of "Itch-B-Gone".
- Kelly's Dad presumably detests Nate because he was waving his fist at him when Kelly first introduced him to Nate in the mall.

She made her first appearance on 10 July 2001. Kelly has not been seen since Nate broke up with her, but her name was mentioned in the comic strip on June 18th 2013. The couple finally split on April 11th, 2002 because Nate wanted to date Jenny.
