The books main character is Claire, a young women in Boston around 1812. She has two suitors: Charles, the British aristocrat and Tom, the rugged ship’s captain. She also has a pony named Dusty. Later in the book, while the War Of 1812 is raging, Claire’s true love, Tom, is falsely accused of treason. Claire goes to plead his case to the president when he runs into Benjamin Franklin. Later they stare at each other lovely, and then a crowd of zombies decapitate them.
