Granny Peppers was a folk artist who had no art training. She painted small oil paintings on canvas, as well as a mural. After she died, she gradually increased in popularity. One of her paintings was sold for two million dollars, and her house became part of the National Register of Historic Places. Her mural was discovered by a Nate Wright, Breckenridge Puffington III and their team in the P.S. 38 Centennial Scavenger Hunt, and was sold to the Museum of American Folk Art.
