Summers as a comic strip character
"'That's my real hair', good one Wink!"
―Nate Wright

Dick Schipp, commonly known as Wink Summers, is the chief meteorologist of his hometown. He tends to make inaccurate announcements about the weather, like missing the forecasts about rain which Nate often tries to correct.

Nate Wright often calls him on his phone to complain about his forecast. He says that the reason he calls himself Wink Summers instead of his real name is because he feels that being called "Dick Schipp" on live television is "playing with fire." He also has a son that takes oboe lessons.

Trivia[]

  • He has been described to be overweight.
  • Schipp tends to predict the weather wrong and is often infuriated when Nate Wright, questions him and his personal life.
  • Nate thinks that his hair is a cheap, hilarious toupee.
  • His wife used to be the movie review lady but divorced him for the sports anchor.
  • His son plays the oboe.
  • When Nate compares Schipp to Chip Cavendish, Nate says that Chip is like a Ken doll, and doesn't have any of his "fat, clumsy, average Joe charm." Schipp promptly hangs up.
  • When he gets his old job back (after a long, boring time as the weekend weatherman), he burps on tv, saying "Woo! Pardon my CHILI!" Nate then says "See? Now THAT'S real!"
  • He makes an appearance in S1 E14 of the Big Nate TV show.
