In one of Nate Wright's stories, "A Typical Day", he tells the readers that sometimes, he and his sister, Ellen Wright, have to eat one of Marty Wright's homemade breakfasts. On that particular morning, because Marty served burnt waffles, Nate wondered if his mother would take his custody.
